<image:caption>Oreo — 14 kg | 5 yrs | Terrier Mix | Located in Mexico | Ready for the next flight to YVR — Happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and hoping for a home of her own. Oreo has been with Yara since she was just three months old. When there was nowhere safe for her to go, Yara kept her instead of letting her return to the streets. Since then, Oreo has grown up surrounded by care and safety — but she has never experienced having a family or home of her own. She is a friendly, easygoing girl who loves people, attention, and spending time outdoors. Oreo enjoys walks, relaxing nearby, and simply being included in everyday life. She has a calm, affectionate nature and would make a lovely companion for someone looking for a sweet, loyal dog by their side. After waiting so many years, we would love to finally see Oreo make her journey to Canada and experience the comfort, love, and stability every dog deserves.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Megara — 13 kg | 5 yrs | Terrier Mix | Located in Mexico | Ready for the next flight to YVR — Sweet, affectionate, and patiently waiting for a home of her own. Megara was found wandering the streets in September 2024, with no family ever located. When nobody came for her, Yara’s sister stepped in to bring her to safety, giving Megara the second chance she deserved. She was later brought to the Orizaba area, where she has remained while waiting for a family to finally choose her. Today, Megara is healthy, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and fully ready for her future. She has also received full veterinary care, including bloodwork, a 4DX SNAP test, and professional dental care. Megara is a gentle, affectionate girl who lives happily with other dogs and truly enjoys companionship. She would love a home where she can enjoy walks, quiet moments nearby, and simply being part of someone’s everyday life. For a long time, Megara remained unseen simply because there was no platform to share her story. Now that she finally has that chance, we hope the right person will find her and give her the loving home she has been waiting for. Megara is ready to travel to Vancouver as soon as a family is waiting for her.</image:caption>

Jade was rescued on April 1, 2024, after being found alone, severely malnourished, and surrounded by a pack of dogs while in heat. Since then, she has been given safety, care, and the chance to finally experience kindness and stability. While in rescue care, Jade recently underwent surgery to remove one of her eyes thanks to the generous support and donations from our community. She has recovered beautifully and is doing amazing in foster care. Her foster describes her as incredibly lovable, calm, and easygoing. Jade is doing great with stairs, settles in nicely around the home, and the other dogs in the household love her. She enjoys companionship, affection, and simply being nearby. She is quiet, well behaved, and gets along beautifully with children and other animals. Now being fostered locally in Delta, BC, Jade is available for meet-and-greets with approved homes. <image:caption>Loba — 17 kg | 6 yrs | Shepherd Mix | Located in Mexico | Ready for the next flight to YVR — Easygoing, gentle, and wonderful with other dogs. Loba has spent years waiting to be noticed. She had been living in a shelter with the understanding that she would eventually receive help locally and be given a chance at a better future, but that opportunity never came. When it became clear nobody was stepping forward for her, Yara brought her into her care so she would not be forgotten. Today, Loba remains in Mexico waiting for the family who will finally choose her. I had the opportunity to meet Loba in person during my recent trip, and she is truly a lovely, easygoing dog. She has a calm, gentle personality, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has the kind of quiet nature that makes you instantly feel comfortable around her. For so many years, dogs like Loba were never seen outside the shelter system and never had the opportunity to reach homes in Canada. Now she finally has that chance, and we would love nothing more than to see her find the loving home she has waited so patiently for. Loba is ready to travel to Vancouver as soon as a family is waiting for her.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Alaska — 3.8 kg | Approx. 3 months | Lab Mix | Located in Mexico | Ready for adoption — Gentle, playful, soft-natured, and just beginning her journey. Alaska came into rescue with her siblings, but sadly not all of them survived. Her sister Suki fought very hard, and despite every effort made to save her, she passed away. Alaska is one of the puppies who made it through, and because of that, we want nothing more than to see her grow up surrounded by love, safety, and stability. She is still just a baby — playful, sweet, and learning about the world around her one day at a time. There is a very soft, gentle nature about her, and she simply wants comfort, warmth, and someone to make her feel safe. Alaska appears to be a Lab mix and will likely grow into a beautiful medium-sized dog with a loyal and loving personality. Alaska deserves the chance to grow up in a home where she is protected, cared for, and never has to struggle again. We are hoping her future will be filled with kindness, security, and the happy life every puppy deserves.</image:caption>

Cajeta is a beautiful, soft-natured girl who has waited far too long for a family of her own. She has such a calm and peaceful presence about her — the kind of dog who simply wants to feel safe, loved, and included. She is incredibly affectionate with a very gentle, trusting nature. Cajeta loves quiet companionship and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, devoted dog to share everyday life with. She would be happiest enjoying gentle walks, cozy places to rest, and finally having a home where she belongs. At 7 years old, she deserves this next chapter more than ever. Sadly, nobody ever came forward for her. Since then, Lilia has remained safe in rescue care, waiting patiently for the opportunity to finally have a family of her own. Now, for the first time, she has the chance to be seen beyond the shelter and hopefully find the forever home she deserves. Lilia has a very sweet nature and is wonderful with children and other dogs. She is loyal, affectionate, and has a fun, athletic side as well. <image:caption>Asher — 3 kg | 3 months | Border Collie/Spaniel Mix | Located in Mexico | Expected for the June flight — Sweet, gentle, resilient, and full of puppy curiosity. Asher’s story began in heartbreaking circumstances. He was one of four puppies found after their mother was discovered tied up in a remote mountain area without care or safety. The puppies were brought to safety, and plans were made to return to help their mother as well. Now safe in rescue care, Asher is beginning the journey toward the life he deserves. At just 3 months old and weighing only 3 kg, he is still a tiny baby with so much growing left to do. He recently tested positive for Ehrlichia and is currently receiving treatment. He will be retested before travel, and his health is being closely monitored as he continues to recover. Despite everything he has already been through, Asher remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and curious about the world around him. He has a soft nature and is looking for a loving, committed family who will give him the safety, care, and future every puppy deserves. His beginning may have been difficult, but we are hoping the rest of his story will be filled with love, comfort, and a home of his very own.</image:caption>

Balam is under one year old and already has a story of survival. He was abandoned and left tied outside on the street, and when Yara first found him he was only about six months old and in very poor condition. He almost didn’t survive. Instead of turning away, Yara stepped in to help him. She took him for veterinary care and made sure he recovered. Today, Balam is healthy, safe, and ready for a home of his own. The person who originally asked for help told Yara that if she could not take him, he should simply be put back on the street. Yara could never do that to him. She kept him safe, knowing he would not survive on his own. Balam is a sweet, loving boy who deserves the chance to finally belong to someone. He would do best as the only pet in the home where he can receive all the love and attention for himself. He is able to arrive in Canada on the next available flight once adopted.</image:caption>

Theo was found in heartbreaking condition — weak, neglected, and in urgent need of care. When Yara stepped in to help him, he was immediately taken for veterinary care and tested positive for Ehrlichia. Since then, Theo has been receiving treatment, nutritious food, and close veterinary follow-up. He is responding very well and continues to gain strength while getting the care and attention every puppy deserves. Although still tiny at just 2.5kg, Theo already has a sweet, gentle personality and a soft nature that makes people instantly fall in love with him. Our best guess is that he may be a Border Collie/Spaniel mix, though only time will tell as he grows. Theo will be retested before travel, and we are hopeful he will be ready for the June flight to Canada. After everything he has already overcome in such a short life, we would love nothing more than to see him find a safe, loving home where he can grow up happy, healthy, and deeply loved.</image:caption>

She has such a peaceful, loving presence about her and asks for very little other than kindness, safety, and companionship. Copito is a sweet little companion with a soft nature and a playful side that continues to come out more each day. While we originally estimated her around four years old, we believe she may be younger — likely somewhere between two and four — as she has a fun, energetic personality and loves to play. She enjoys being around people, loves having another dog nearby, and would do beautifully in a home where she can continue building confidence while enjoying companionship and routine. A playful canine friend in the home would be a wonderful match for her. Copito is low to non-shedding and was professionally groomed yesterday. She’s currently thriving on a healthy diet, and the staining around her eyes is already beginning to improve. <image:caption>Blakey — 3.6 kg | Approx. 4 yrs | Chihuahua Mix | Fostered in Surrey, BC — Tiny, affectionate, playful, and happiest being close to her person. Blakey came to Canada after spending much of her life in Mexico living on a chain with very little freedom or interaction with the world around her. Because of this, so many everyday experiences are still completely new to her, and it has been incredibly rewarding watching her confidence grow more and more each day. Now safely in foster care in Surrey, Blakey is blossoming into a loving little companion who enjoys walks, cuddling on the couch, and being included in everyday life. She sleeps quietly through the night, is doing excellent with potty training, and has had no accidents in her foster home. She is also doing wonderfully on leash walks and has adjusted very well to apartment living, including elevators and hallways. Blakey is very people-oriented and would prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. Once she feels safe, her loyal and affectionate personality truly shines. She is playful, gentle, and looking for a patient home where she can continue discovering how wonderful life can be. On my very first day arriving in Mexico during this last trip, Yara brought Gracie to my attention, and the moment I saw her, I completely melted. There was no question — we knew we had to help her. Gracie is one of only two puppies from her litter who survived. Despite such a difficult beginning, she has remained incredibly loving, affectionate, and gentle. She has a very calm, sweet nature about her and absolutely loves being close to people. She is still just a tiny baby, learning about the world around her, but already has the kind of personality that captures your heart instantly. If I did not already have three dogs of my own, she would have been very hard to leave behind. Our best guess is that Gracie is a Maltese mix, and she is expected to stay on the smaller side as she grows. Gracie deserves a future filled with love, safety, comfort, and the kind of family who will treasure her for the rest of her life.</image:caption>

Onyx was found wandering the streets of Nogales in heartbreaking condition. His fur was heavily matted with dreadlocks, and he was covered in fleas and ticks. People in the area believed he had likely been abandoned there, as nobody recognized him or knew where he had come from. When he was rescued, he immediately received veterinary care, grooming, and the safety he so desperately needed. Today, Onyx is safe in Río Blanco and slowly beginning his next chapter. Despite everything he has been through, Onyx appears to have a very sweet and gentle personality. He is already showing signs of trust and affection as he adjusts to being cared for and loved. He has completed his SNAP test, bloodwork, and neuter, and continues receiving the care he needs as we learn more about him. Onyx also has a crooked back leg, but it does not take away from his charm or the loving companion he is becoming. After such a difficult beginning, we would love nothing more than to see Onyx eventually find a family who will never let him feel abandoned again.</image:caption>
